Information We Access
SwitchUp may access certain information from your device that is necessary to provide its functionality.
Installed applications. SwitchUp may access information about apps installed on your device so you can select them and display their shortcuts in the overlay. This may include:
- Application names
- Application package names or identifiers
- Application icons or other information required for display
This information is used only to provide SwitchUp's core functionality — selecting and launching apps from the overlay. SwitchUp does not sell your installed-application information, and unless specifically stated in this policy, does not upload your installed-application list to our servers.
Overlay permission. SwitchUp uses Android's "Display over other apps" permission to show selected shortcuts on top of other apps. This is used solely for that purpose. SwitchUp does not use the overlay permission to:
- Read the contents of other applications
- Read passwords or private messages
- Record your screen
- Monitor what you type
- Modify other applications
- Perform actions in other apps without your interaction
You can disable the overlay permission at any time in your Android settings. Doing so may prevent the overlay from working.
Information We Do Not Collect
SwitchUp doesn't require an account, and unless otherwise stated in this policy, we do not intentionally collect:

- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Contacts
- Photos or videos
- SMS or call records
- Location information
- Microphone recordings or camera data
- Passwords
- Contents of other applications
SwitchUp does not intentionally collect the contents of applications you open through the overlay.
Advertising
SwitchUp uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob is a third-party advertising service operated by Google, and may collect and process information from your device to display ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and provide advertising services.
Depending on applicable law, your device settings, and your consent choices, this may include:
- Advertising identifiers
- Device information and IP address
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Interactions with advertisements
- Diagnostic and performance information
Information collected by Google is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and applicable advertising policies. SwitchUp does not sell your personal information to advertisers.
Advertising Consent
Where required by applicable law, SwitchUp may request your consent before showing personalized advertisements, using a consent or privacy-options dialog provided through Google's consent management technology.
Your choices affect which types of ads are shown to you. Google provides tools for managing your advertising privacy choices.
How We Use Information
Information accessed by SwitchUp is used only for legitimate purposes related to providing and improving the app:
- Displaying selected application shortcuts
- Launching applications selected by the user
- Maintaining the user's selected applications
- Providing and displaying advertisements
- Improving application stability and performance
- Preventing abuse, fraud, or security issues
- Complying with applicable laws and legal obligations
We do not use installed-application information for unrelated purposes.
Data Sharing
SwitchUp does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share or allow third-party service providers to process limited information where necessary to provide services used by the app — namely, Google AdMob for advertising, which processes information as described in Google's privacy documentation.
Third-party services process information according to their own privacy policies; we recommend reviewing Google's for details on its advertising services.
Data Storage
SwitchUp may store your application preferences locally on your device — such as the apps you've selected for the overlay — to provide the app's functionality. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, SwitchUp does not upload your selected application list to our servers.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by SwitchUp, and the app is designed to limit access to device information to what its functionality requires. That said, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Google Play requires developers to handle personal and sensitive user data securely and to use appropriate security measures.
Children's Privacy
SwitchUp is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children, and we do not knowingly do so. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Your Choices and Permissions
You're in control of the permissions granted to SwitchUp. You may:
- Disable the overlay permission through Android settings
- Remove applications from your SwitchUp selection
- Uninstall SwitchUp at any time
- Manage available advertising and privacy choices where applicable
Disabling required permissions may cause certain features to stop working.
Data Retention and Deletion
SwitchUp primarily stores application preferences locally on your device. If you uninstall the app, locally stored preferences and other local data are generally removed according to Android's app-data management behavior.
If you contact us about personal information that may have been processed through a service we operate, we'll review the request and take appropriate action as required by applicable law. Third-party services, including Google, may retain information according to their own policies.
Third-Party Services
SwitchUp uses third-party services, including Google AdMob, which may independently process information according to their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services SwitchUp uses.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back periodically to stay informed about how SwitchUp handles information.

SwitchUp is designed to provide quick access to applications selected by the user through an Android overlay. The overlay and installed-application access exist to provide this core functionality — never to monitor, read, or control the contents of other applications.
